The Southern California Home Buyer’s Fair is a very unique offering. There are home improvement shows; home and garden shows; spa and bar-b-cue shows, but there is no show focused on the #1 topic on the lips of politicians, the news media, New York Stock Exchange and the average consumer: Where is the real estate market going today?

Presented by the “Los Angeles Times” and the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, The Southern California Home Buyer’s Fair was designed to answer the question poised by the consumer, “Can I afford to buy a house with real estate being what it is?” The focus of this event is to boost consumer confidence and encourage them to enter the home-buying process and become a part of the American Dream.

We plan to boost their confidence by teaching them how to buy and sell a home. No one else is doing that, free. This two-day event will feature educational sessions, in English and Spanish, and an exhibit hall with an array of products and services directed toward the consumer’s needs. No one else is doing that, free. And did I say this event is completely free? We’re expecting more than 5,000 prospective first-time home buyers and real estate investors to add this week-end to their calendar.

With more than 125 years in the publishing business, the “Los Angeles Times” is the largest metropolitan daily newspaper in the country, with a daily readership of nearly 2.2 million and about 3.3 million on Sunday. Additionally, the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® has more than 100 years invested in the real estate industry and is the largest state trade association in the nation.
